London’s Contemporary Arts Festival 27 July - 12 August 2012

This will be the largest Deptford X Fringe in the festival’s history with over 50 artists participating in the programme. Exhibitions will be hosted in a range of venues including train station, charity shops, local businesses and on the streets, effectively turning Deptford into an art canvas.

BRINGING HOME THE ART

Curated by Holly Stevenson Monday - Saturday (27.07.12 - 28.07.12), (30.07.12 - 04.08.12), (06.08.12 - 11.08.12)

‘Bringing Home the Art’ is a collaborative project involving The Salvation Army Shop on Deptford High Street and contemporary artists Anna Baker, Yoav Ben-David, Josie Cockram, Joss Cole, Sunshine Frère, Cristina Garrido, Katie Goodwin, Ann-Marie James, Leo Koivistoinen, Trevor Kiernander, Alex March, Scott Mason, Sibyl Montague, Eilidh Short, Jeeti Singh, Holly Stevenson, Mary Vettise, and Clara Vuletich and The Bricolage Collective. Each artist has donated a work to sell in the form of postcard. The show insists on the collector’s eye having to hunt and rummage, whilst the donations make us think of contemporary art in a time of up-cycling and financial cut-backs.
