Deptford X Parade 2022

Sign up for the Parade! Calling all community groups, schools, youth clubs, and anyone else who wants to be involved.


We’re thrilled to announce that the Deptford X Parade is back, this year led by Lagos-based multimedia performance artist and sculptor Jelili Atiku. The parade will take place from 12pm on Sunday 25th September between Giffin Square and Fordham Park – we’d love to see you there. 

Together with Lewisham’s local schools and communities, Atiku will lead the co-created parade The Earth is a Beehive, unifying young community members through costume, dance, and music. The parade explores local histories, migration and legacies of the West African diaspora, and will be the official close to the Deptford X Festival on Sunday 25th September.

If you’d like to get involved with the parade, please come along to one of our parade costume-making workshops, details below:

The workshops are guided and free to attend, no pre-booking required.
